Problem with DDJ400 syncing buttons

Hi, ive just brought the djay pro 2 on my windows for my ddj 400 but it wont let me just press my sync buttons and have them light up red on their own, there has to be both songs playing and i can only take one off at a time like it doesnt make sense ? As my mate has the 400s but he has ios djay pro but he can sync one song leave it on then bring the other one in with sync but i cannt and it messes up my mixing please help

As in when i load up the app with no songs in or even jsut one the lights on my sync buttons will not turn red, will jsut stay grey, like they dont work, tried all the settings but got no luck, they only both turn red when i play both songs together which skips foward then causes my mixes to be out of beat, any help would be amazing

The SYNC buttons shouldn't light up unless you have tracks loaded and able to be sync'd, thus the sync enabled.

If pressing the SYNC button to enable it causes the tracks to jump out of sync or misaligned, then the beat grids would need to be adjusted on one of those songs.

for example my friend when he taps the sync button with both song loaded in he can make it light up and then turn it off on both left and right, but i can only do that if both songs are playing but he can do it whenever, do you have an email or anything i can show you videos of the problem ? ( we both have the DDJ-400 but he has mac and i have windows surely that doesnt matter tho as its just one button?) plus his sync button on djay lights up blue completely when both songs play but mine only have a blue outline.

The illumination will differ from application to application, so it's possible that the iOS version of the app functions differently than the desktop control of the SYNC.
