Rekordbox “Removing Tracks” when syncing to USB

Been having this issue for quite some time. Rekordbox box spends quite a bit of time removing hundreds of songs while syncing. Why is this happening? How do I remedy? Thanks in advance.

Facing same issue. Cleaned + formatted usb to fat32, sync and remove. When I insert it back, Rekordbox will start removing everything

Also facing same issue. It seems to only remove ones in a folder though. And this on Win10, btw

Same issue here. Have had to format every time if I want it to export every playlist.

Sync manager has all playlists checked for export, then it deletes half of my playlists and won't export them until I re-format the USB and start over.

Exceptionally frustrating and extremely time consuming, as a fast format doesn't seem to work, seems to require a full format.

Have never had this issue until RB6.

I am facing the same issue :(

  • OS version: Windows 7
  • Rekordbox Mode: Export
  • Model: XDJ-1000 (v1.13)

Description:

  1. Format USB to fat32
  2. Sync playlists using SYNC MANAGER
  3. Remove USB.
  4. Insert UB back

Rekordbox will start removing a part of tracks without doing anything...

For starters, if you didn't format the drive and re-export with rekordbox 6, this will happen (and is a known issue). Please start with that.

If you're still having problems, disable the sync manager and try manually exporting songs / playlists to the USB drive instead.

After formatting USB drive, I am facing the same issue.

After manually exporting playlists to USB drive (without SYNC MANAGER), this issue disappears.

Thank you for this workaround.

Anyway, this issue shall be fixed because SYNC MANAGER is mandatory to sync Rekordbox and USB drive.

Has this been sorted yet? It's such a pain! Get your act together Pioneer!

If you removed them from your collection, the sync act says "Hey, these are removed, let's also clear them from the drive."

No this happens after formatting the drive so there shouldn't be any 'removed tracks' on the drive.

I find this happens when one or more tracks have changed in a playlist that you have synced to your USB already.

Rekordbox is not smart enough to just make incremental changes to synced playlists and instead deletes and re-syncs the entire playlist.

This is "ok" if you have a playlist with say, 20 songs but when you have hundreds, you are in for a long long wait.

I can replicate this exact problem in my setup.

  1. Sync iTunes managed playlist to USB in rekordbox.
  2. Go back and make a change to a playlist in itunes (i.e add a new track to the playlist)
  3. Refresh the playlist in Rekordbox and re-import it to pick up the changes.
  4. Sync to usb stick.
  5. Watch it delete all the tracks in that playlist from the USB before syncing them all back on with your new additions.

There is also an annoying feature with rekordbox where this sync window forces itself to be on top of all other windows during this process meaning you cant really do anything else on your computer until this process is finished.

Please have a look at this pioneer. Its basic stuff!

I having this same issue.
Have not tried to format the usb yet as suggested by Pulse above, how is that going to help ?.
I have smartlists in iTunes. After adding music I import the whole folder of  playsts from iTunes.
I wonder if this will generate new RB playlist ids and for that reason it will start removing all existing playlists on the USB ?
Also the sync manager window is forced as the topmost window so I can't  even open the system manager to kill the whole RB.
The sync will take the whole night to remove the tracks before moving them back in.
