Rekordbox 6 Mobile App Music Export?!

Hi Guys,

Had a bit of a nightmare, a friend of mine i'm trying to help has deleted a lot of music but luckily he did the Rekordbox 6 upgrade and synced his mobile app on iPhone with all his music that he says he's lost. Is there a way to export it from the phone and put it back onto the Mac? I've tried looking through settings and an iPhone Explorer but can't seem to locate where the music is stored once on the phone.. The phone has the songs physically on it but i just can't find it. Is this possible?

Thanks so much for any sort of help you can give!

Just export, I dont want to do it over the wifi.. So if it makes sense.. To reverse the import process from rekordbox to the ios app, instead drag them from the phone back on to the Mac/Rekordbox app? Is it possible?

Thanks Pulse

I need it to act as a usb device basically so when i plug the phone into the mac i can drag them off the phone back onto rekordbox and just auto-relocate them so they're not lost, as the mac wiped them but they are all still playable on the phone.

Also, when i look at turning on iCloud Library Sync on the iOS App, it says..

Start automatic syncing via cloud with the rekordbox (Mac/Win) Library. If there is an existing library on cloud, integrates the library of this mobile device with the library of cloud. When synced, the library cannot be returned to it's original state.

If i do this, will it resync the macs library and overwrite the iOS Apps? Or do what i need it to and make whats on the phone, playable on the mac?

Sorry to triple-post, just been bugging me for weeks trying to get this fixed for him.

Thankyou

Just hold tight for a minute - trying to replicate things here without destroying my own library. ;)

So the only real solution here is to activate the Creative plan on the phone, enable the cloud sync, upload that music to Dropbox, then activate it on the computer, and download the music from there.

If you were to try and sync the library, it will remove it from the phone.

Ok got you!

So i've activated both the creative plan via TeamViewer, now on his phone does he select all the songs in his playlists and Upload?

Downloading wise where would i go on the rekordbox app (Mac)?

So the Creative plan is activated and the Cloud Library Sync is enabled?

Ah just done that and it worked.. So now its logged in and uploading all the files from his phone and then will they show in Dropbox in Playlists and be able to be downloaded as usual?

With the Creative plan and the cloud sync activated on rekordbox (desktop) it will sync the database and Dropbox should then bring the music down from the cloud as well.

You'll have to select the music on the phone to upload to Dropbox as well - do you know how to select all and upload?

Hey Pulse, After leaving the phone unlocked and syncing, it's taken a long while and it's gone from 0% to 100% 3 times and it's taken a while, is this syncing everything from the phone up to cloud/dropbox? Or do i still have to add them up from playlists after this has done? Just wondering why the sync has tried doing it 3 times and its taken hours?

Thanks

So long as you selected all the songs on the phone to be uploaded, that would have put the contents into Dropbox and synchronized the database. With rekordbox on the desktop signed-in to the same Creative plan with Dropbox installed and active, you should see the songs appear there and be available within the collection.
