it's not a good thing as you're going to loose the beat synch view...
Hey, I'd love to have a horizontal layout, that doesn't show the stacked waveforms.
Transitioning from a DDJ controller to a CDJ setup would be easier that way.
(waveforms next to - not on top of each other)
Sure stacked waveforms are nice, but it makes beatmatching a bit easy compared to the usual club setups.
For example:

Yes Simon, that's the whole point.
No stacked waveforms, since you don't have these on CDJs.
Instead they are side by side, maybe add a 1 bar sync indicator.
For example:

The purpose is NOT to make beatmatching easier, but to only have the tools available that CDJs offer. It's an optional layout, not a replacement.
This would allow playing at home with your controller (like the DDJ-800) and get used to "club setup" beatmatching.
So... like Traktor?
I've never used Traktor to be honest.
Just working in a club and using this weird time to learn mixing on our 900nxs setup.
I only have a used DDJ-400 at home since earning money isn't easy at the moment as you can imagine. I'd love to mix at home in a similar fashion.. no overlapping waveforms that is, to have an easier time getting used to the club setting. I've seen people talk about this (and customizable UI) since 2016.
Would help tremendously to transition from home -> club..
