Rekordbox Missing Database Help

Hi all, ok I'll add in as much info as possible, hopefully some one can help.

OS: Windows 10

Rekordbox: 5.8.5

My entire Rekordbox is on an external hard drive (D), set up files the lot. Nothing was set up or stored on my on my C drive.

My C-drive became corrupt and had a new SSD fitted and windows re installed.

Now as there was no shortcut button i went to my Rekordbox folder, and double clicked to launch the application, once started there is no music, playlist's etc.

My Rekordbox folder shows the date it was last modified which was back in April, however there is a Pioneer folder above it with a modified date of 11th September, this was was when the guy who fixed the PC downloaded a new copy or RB on my C drive (this may be totally irrelevant). This Pioneer folder when opened has a master sub folder called Pioneer which has several files, automix playlist, data file back up edb, but all of these files are dated 11th September, then another folder USBANLZ, which is empty.

Is there a hidden file containing my database on my external drive ?

Worst case scenario I have 80% of my data base on a CDJ ready USB, I have read that this can be used to copy back the playlist's, cues etc but does it also copy back the music files ? as this will cause duplicates.

Amy help will be gratefully appreciated.

Unless you intentionally moved a bunch of additional files and folders to the D drive, there would have been preference and settings files stored and maintained on the C drive (under your user's folder).

And unless you specifically moved the database to the external drive using the advanced page in the preferences, only the music would have been on the external drive; the database file itself would have lived in the same user folder on the C drive as your preferences.

The Pioneer folder you refer to may be what's needed, depending on what's still in there. Can you post a screenshot of the contents and provide additional answers to clarify the above?

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. Yes unfortunately I didn't change the default location so its back to square one :-(

However, I can re import from exported ready USB. Can I ask if i do this do i have to copy over the music files themselves (thus adding duplicates), or can I import the file locations then have auto relocat find all the files ?

Or is there an easy way ?
