When will Rekordbox 6 be compatible with Mac OS Big Sur?

When will Rekordbox 6 be compatible with Mac OS Big Sur? I currently have all kinds of hisses and clicks in Big Sur, which are not there in Catalina. I'm using a DDJ-1000.

Per the news announcement released November 10th, we do not recommend users upgrade to Big Sur at this time as we have not yet verified compatibility with our hardware and software. We expect the validation to be completed by late December, and any driver updates necessary will be released as they are completed.

Your best bet for now is to downgrade to Catalina.

My question is how you justify waiting until an OS is released to the public to start working on updating your software? Some people work in IT services, and leaving their devices on an old OS is unacceptable.

Considering these OS updates come out in their beta form MONTHS prior to release for this exact reason: So developers can use the new OS to make sure their shit is compatible. How does a "pro grade" DJ gear producer charge people upwards of 2K per device, and then fail to deliver timely updates to maintain a secure system. If my company failed to make sure our app runs on each new operating system the day it's released, we'd be out of a job! We start working on compatibility the day the first beta comes out!

Not everyone is okay with leaving their computer system vulnerable to cyberattacks just because some company doesn't want to do their job and update their software in a timely manner. Get more developers or something, this is just ridiculous to have to go through this year after year!

Seriously making me regret the CDJ3000 purchase ugh.

Here's a suggestion: Instead of "YESSSSSSS! Sorry.", how about next year actually try being proactive and have a dev or two download the betas and start working on fixes as the OS updates come out!

@Arthur > Here's why...

A few OS versions ago, our engineers worked using the betas to ensure that the hardware, drivers, and software were all working as needed for the coming release. It all looked fine until the golden master was issued and one tiny change Apple made to the audio engine threw everyone back to square one. Since then, we, as well as many other audio industry professionals, wait until AFTER the public release to start testing and then validating our products.

I appreciate that you may want or need to update to the latest version. As a working DJ myself, I almost never update to the latest and greatest EVEN AFTER the green light has been given. Heck, I even keep several versions of Serato, rekordbox, and Traktor on my computer just to be able to fall back in the event there's a new bug in the latest version I didn't have with the older ones. When I'm getting paid to play, I ensure that my work machine is going to do what I need. If you only have one computer that you need for other work purposes and DJing is secondary, then I'm sorry if you have to wait for compatibility; we're not doing it with the express purpose of breaking things for you, rather, we're making sure everything works properly.

Thanks for your patience.
