Occasional Crackle / Stutter - Rekordbox / DDJ-400

Hi,

Had a DDJ-400 since Xmas. Having great fun mixing and learning.

I have a very occasional stutter / crackle in the sound. It seems to happen and sometimes the controller lights will flicker whilst this happens. Some googling  / searching on here suggested Power so I've moved the Controller USB cable from a direct connection to my laptop to a powered USB hub. This *may* have improved things but it's still happening.

Bizarrely I can hear the crackle / static through speakers output via the RCA, or if I'm just DJing using Headphones / Master Cue etc. But if I record the crackle isn't present in the recording. That said I did a stream the other night so I'd changed the RB settings to output to computer audio also and the crackle was present on the stream.

My setup - I have a recent 11th Gen i5 Dell Inspiron laptop, 256gb SSD, 8GB RAM.

It's up to date as far as Windows updates and Dell firmwares etc etc are concerned.

I do have my music on a NAS drive as opposed to locally so was going to move music to an External USB drive or stick to troubleshoot.

However anyone else got any suggestions?

Same problems here.

My setup: I have a 7th Gen i5 Dell Vostro5568 laptop, 512Gb SSD, 8GB RAM. Rekordbox ver. 6.6.3. The music library is on my SSD laptop. OS: Windows 10 21H2.

I didn't have these problems with the previous RB version.

I haven't tried to use a powered external USB hub.

What do you suggest to me?

I have done many other tests but unfortunately without success.

1) try out a few different buffer sizes in Rekordbox configuration  from 256 to 512 or 1024.

2) Disable: all netword cards, Dell SupportAssist, Windows firewall,  Windows Defender, and unnecesary services.

3) I followed the Pioneer support instructions here: https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/900005642483-Troubleshooting-audio-noise-in-Windows

4) RAM upgrade to 32 GB

5) Play songs from my local library with iTunes and audio streaming with Spotify. I haven't encountered any problems.

6) Play songs from my local library with Rekordbox without DDJ-400 connected. The crackle happens.

So the issue is surely only with Rekordbox software, because it happens even when the console is not connected.
The really very strange thing is that it happens exactly every 15 minutes.
There seems to be something happening every 15 minutes.
What could it be?
