hello folks. i will try to be clear with my issue and maybe someone has had the same problem.
there was something corrupt on my external drive where i store all dj music. i had to fix the drive and the result was the files being placed into multiple folders with new names on a new external.
for ease of relinking all the music back up in rekordbox.. i just put ALL music files into ONE folder in order for the auto locate function of rb 6.5.1 to work easily.
in settings i chose this music folder i created (containing ALL the music i use in rekordbox) as the folder for auto relocate.
when i 'display all missing files' and try to relink that way.. it only works one by one. if i do 'auto relocate' it find nothing ( even though the files are all in the same folder)
even tried just selecting one ep.. so 5 tracks from the same record, all 100% existing in the same folder... if i select them and right click and 'relocated' this way is only finds the first file but not the others.
if anyone has run into this, i'd really appreciated hearing how anyone worked this out. thanks!
The mass relocation works only if you've changed the folder parent, not the entire structure. In that situation, the AUTO relocation would work provided you point it to ONLY that one folder in the preferences, then select ALL missing files (by pressing CTRL+A in the missing file manager window) then auto relocate.
