Seagate backup plus hard drive not recognised by rekordbox

Hi all,

I bought the Seagate Backup Plus hard drive, recordbox version 5.8.5 is not recognising it - I believe the seagate is exFAT format and I have read that format is not compatible with RB and is probably the reason why its not working.

My question is how do I reformat this hard drive and to what so it can be compatible with Recordbox? Also what are the risks of reformatting if there are any?

Thanks

Drives formatted exFAT can be used as a source for music within rekordbox, but not as export devices as that filesystem is not recognized by our players, only FAT32 or HFS+ (Mac).

You can reformat it with either a system tool, 3rd party utility, or command line - plenty of info if you Google it. As for risks, you'll lose any data on the drive when you format.
