I've had experience with different kind of pioneer products, I'm not new to djing.
I bought a second hand DDJ-1000 online, and it doesn't seem to work properly. The controller is decently used and there definitely is some wear on the hardware.
I got it to turn on and connect to rekorbox all correctly, audio is setup fine and the MIDI seems to be setup properly, MIDI has also been. restored to default. But for some reason the right deck doesn't really work. After loading a track, the play and cue buttons don't do anything and when I turn the jogwheel, the grid moves inside of rekorbox but the waveform doesn't move. The buttons to change PAD functions also don't work. The right and left knobs to select tracks only zoom on the waveform and I can't use them to load tracks/scroll through my playlist.
I am on mac, OS is Catalina 10.15.2
I know this might sound very confused, but I really have no idea what is going on. The controller has been sold to me as "working perfectly, only a bit used", and I'm just trying to understand if the problem is on the software or hardware, to decide if I will have to take legal action against the seller or not.

Hey Marco,
First thing to check -- disable DVS in the preferences by unticking the top box on that page. If DVS is on for that deck, it could be it's expecting timecode input.
Second, check that you've installed the drivers properly by allowing it through the macOS security preferences.
I checked both things, DVS is not active and the driver has been correctly installed. The issue persists.
I noticed something weird: the left deck works properly, how I would expect it to behave, and when i click the left shift, the controller shows "what that shift button can modify".
But for some reason when I click the right shift, nothing happens.
