Rekordbox losing LINK connection and not loading tracks on CDJ 2000/2000NXS/2000NXS2

Hi,

Please I need help. In my last 2 parties I had a problem with the LINK with the CDJ's 2000 / 2000NXS / 2000NXS2. Every time he lost connection and went into emergency LOOP. I had to turn off the CDJ's and restart my MAC to re-load the music on them. With this problem he did not load music in any of the CDJ's without turning it off and on again. This happened every time and I was unable to use Rekordbox having to switch to pen-drive. Lucky that I have all my material exported and I was able to make the event without problems but without having the same facility of searching and loading music.

This problem happened with both RB5 and RB6, both updated in the latest version. I use a Macbook Pro 2019 with OS Mojave, Intel i7, 16gb RAM, 1TB of HD. The USB-C / RJ-45 adapter is from Belkin. I did the test with another from another brand and it gave the same problem. I also changed the network HUB and all cables and gave the same problem.

I am desperate because I was not able to do the event with the same security that I usually do, I need to find a solution for this problem. I searched Google about this problem and found no one with the same problem.

Please help me!!!

This is most likely a network issue. Connect only 1 CDJ to the laptop and see if the link is stable. If the link fails, try a different cable. If it's stable, then the hub / switch is probably the issue.

I had a network switch that gave me problems years ago. The switch kept disconnecting and reconnecting to my laptop for some unknown reason (even without Rekordbox running). When it would disconnect, the link would drop out in Rekordbox. In the end, I had to buy a newer switch to get everything to stay reliable.

If this is a new problem (like it was stable in the past but now it's not) it has to be either the network hardware has changed or there has been a driver update or something to that effect.

I use Rekordbox version 5.8.5. and the link is stable with 3 CDJ's connected to a Dell laptop (Windows 10).

Hey Rodrigo,

As KennyD says, the best thing to do is test a single player connected directly to the computer. If that works, grab a second network cable and try again. If that works, you now know the computer, network adapter, CDJ, and two cables are all working. Next, introduce the network hub, still with only the elements you know are working, and if it fails, the problem is the hub.

Let us know how your troubleshooting goes.
