Why is pre-cueing Post fade when using the ddj 1000srt with djay pro ai?

I have a ddj 1000srt and I am using it with DJay Pro ai.

My problem is the headphone cue point is post fade!

I need it to be prefade.... if I turn the fader up to hear the channel being pre-cued it will be in the main speakers.... not at all what is required.

Please Help

here is a screenshot of the audio configuration in djay pro ai.

Disable the Pre-Cueing output by selecting NONE at the top of the list; then the hardware itself will allow you to cue pre-fader on the channel.

Thank you for your suggestion ...... I made the adjustment as you stated but it is still post fade. In Serato it works in pre-fade but I am having even worse problems with serato right now (software problems .... not related to the controller).

Untill I get a solution I will use my Midas M32 and map the audio outs for decks 1 through 4 to that and PFL it on the mixer then just use the DDJ 1000SRT as a controller.... It is a pain having to lug a 32ch digital audio console to every DJ gig so if you do come up with a solution please let me know.

Thank you again

Okay, I figured it out - for some VERY stupid reason, even if you have selected EXTERNAL mixer mode, the mixer in djay is STILL ACTIVE!

If you have the mixer visible, you can watch the channel faders in the software move with the hardware faders. That shouldn't happen! With an external mixer selected, the software mixer should be disabled completely. The work-around for this is to actually go and delete all the MIDI mappings for the DDJ. The nice thing is you just open up the control editor and move the faders and EQ knobs for all the channels one by one - as you do, hit the DELETE key to delete that mapping. Once you've removed them, ensure that all the EQs are at 12 o'clock (in software) and take each channel fader (in software) to the max, then you'll have proper function with the hardware.

I think we have an email for their dev team, I'll pass this along to them.

What about the cue buttons..... do I need to delete the midi mapping for those too.... or just the faders and eq's?

Thanks

I don't recall removing them from the software, but you could as you're not using them for that purpose; the hardware is acting as the cueing bus.
