Rekordbox Free Unlock with Hardware not working (DDJ-1000) Windows

After upgrading to a DDJ 1000 from a DDJ 400 a month ago, I was loving my new controller, until last night, rekordbox decided to throw me in a hole and not recognise my controller. I was unable to use the controller before my gig, with rekordbox stating that my free plan was not compatible with my hardware. Each jog display on rekordbox indicated I had "NO AUDIO AVALIABLE". I have never had this issue before and ended up having to buy a core subscription to be able to play.

In summary, I believe the issue to be a miscommunication between software and hardware. I am running the latest version of firmware for the DDJ 1000 as well as the latest version of rekordbox. I tried reinstalling rekordbox, restarting my computer etc etc. and the only fix was to purchase a core subscription.

Has anyone else run into this problem and if so does anyone have a fix? I should be able to use my controller on my free plan with hardware unlock but since last night this has not been the case.

Have you checked that the driver service is installed and running?
On DDJ-800 the service is called "DDJ-800_AutoSetup" so I guess it's something like that for the DDJ-1000. If the service is not running the first thing I notice is that the displays on the jog wheels are not working.
