rekordbox crash (on startup / while running) with/while usb drive attached

0) Have you read the "READ ME FIRST" thread in its entirety AND TRIED THE SOLUTIONS THERE before posting:  Yes, I swear it!
1) Operating System: Windows 10 
2) OS Type: 64bit
3) rekordbox version: 6.5.1
4) Using LINK: No
5) Source Hard drive / Flash drive / SD card file system: FAT32 
5b) Connection type: USB3.0 / USB2.0
5c) Does the device have multiple partitions: No
5d) If it's a flash drive, is it a U3 device: No
5e) With what utility did you format the device: OS X, Windows, HP USB Formatting Utility, Other
6) Export Hard drive / Flash drive / SD card file system: FAT16 / FAT32 / NTFS / HFS+ / exFAT
6b) Connection type: USB3.0 / USB2.0 / USB 1.1 / FireWire / Thunderbolt / Network Share / Other (please specify)
6c) Does the device have multiple partitions: No / Yes / Unsure
6d) If it's a flash drive, is it a U3 device: No Yes Unsure

today i wanted to prepare a usb stick for cdj use (first timer) - anyhow if i connect any fat32 formated USB stick, rekordbox crashes "unexpected application error". this happens with a sandisk extreme pro 3.1 128gb or even with a cheap ass no name 4gb stick. it does not happen if the sticks are formated as ntfs tho! since cdjs wont read ntfs im kinda stuck here i tried various usb ports too....

the usb drives work totally fine on a different (but way older) machine and can be read/written to. after replugging it to my main machine recordbox told me that the library was corrupt, after that it did got recognized by rekordbox, but was unable to write to it (this part is not reproduceable as it seems, only worked once). 

i updated bios and mainboard chipset drivers so far, not helping. drive gets recognized by windows totally fine...
