DDJ-SR2 Crossfader Issue (Potential Hardware Failure)

Hey all -

I recently bought the new DDJ-SR2 and have been experiencing major issues with the crossfader:

-Channel 1 works without issue when the crossfader slides to the right of center towards Channel 2 but not vice versa.  As soon as I slide the crossfader knob one hash to the left of center, all the sound from Channel 2 cuts out completely and all I can hear is Channel 1

-I've tried adjusting the crossfader settings with every possible combination within the Serato software and nothing seems to work.  Neither power nor linear settings fix the issue, slow or fast crossfader does nothing either

-I have tried both RCA and XLR outputs and the problem persists

- I also tried changing the crossfader cut-lag settings while in utility mode all the way from 1 to 9 and that does not solve the issue either

Any ideas?  My sense is that there's an issue with the SR2 unit itself as I cannot pinpoint why this is happening

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, this sounds like a hardware issue.  You have a few options.

  1. You can return the unit to the retailer and ask for another unit in the hopes that you received a rare faulty unit.
  2.  You can bring your unit to your nearest authorized repair center for warranty repair (but this could take some time).

I personally recommend swapping the unit out.  If you bought the unit in a brick and mortar store I would test out the new unit in the store before taking it home to make sure that it's not your computer or settings that could be causing the issue.
