[SOLVED] DJM 2000 ASIO Recording

Hi,

I am trying to record from my DJM 2000 into ableton live via the ASIO input, i am getting a signal but the volume is extremely low (not matching what is being output by my speakers)

The volume is to low to boost without major distortion issues so i am wondering how i can increase the volume being output by the mixer into ableton so I get a consistent volume as to what is being played through my master.

I am running windows 7 and ableton live 8.

Thanks

Matt

@Matthew Have you tried to change the Digital Out Max Level? (-19dB, -15dB, -10dB, -5dB) Page 24 in the DJM-2000 manual...

I have yet to hear or read of anyone successfully recording from a DJM900/2000 using the USB port. Your best bet is a RCA to Mini Jack and capture the audio from your mixers Master Out 2 and your computers mic input.

Hi,

I sorted the problem, i changed it to -5db and routed the stereo into my mic in on my pc as you guys said above, and it was much louder it still needs boosting a little though which causes some distortion so i think without a proper audio interface it is difficult to record in high quality.

Thanks for the help guys!

@Robert > I record over the USB connection all the time without issue.

Me too! You have also put up the record level in your pc, @ windows in it's sound settings or in the specific software you using, like ableton etc...

Here's a dumb question.... Can you record through the Network cable that plugs into the Computer Port on the DJM-2000, and plugging the opposite end into a laptop?
