@Aladdin > Where are you located?
hey guys, just wondering why the 850 and 900 do not have the microphone cut from booth option like on the 800, or is there a way to apply this? with the mic set to go through the booth speakers it is very frustrating for DJ's, let alone causing huge amounts of feedback with the volume the monitors are normally set to. thanks for your help!
Would appreciate if someone from Pioneer could take a look into these related issues

Starting to really think the USB out on my mixer has issues as its very random, for example last I was able to record for a whole 38 minutes before the audio dropped and I got that transform sound scratchy effect. The main reason I bought the 850 for the USB out recording. Very frustrating.
Appreciate any feedback as I am starting to loose it :(
@Dez > See your first thread.
@ayden > They do; the option is located within the CLUB SETUP menu, found by pressing and holding the UTILITY button when powering-up the mixer.
thanks Pulse, I appreciate that help!
Hi, sorry to add a comment on this section! I've recently bought a CDJ-350 & DJM 350 package. Fab to use until i connected an ipod to the mic/aux input! After 4/5 mins the mixer turns off automaticaly??!! (its ok on the other chanels!) I've been in touch with Pioneer who said thats strange...???? & advised me to contact my supplier who responded by asking me return the mixer...i work 4 nights per week & am unable to do this! Has anyone else had the same problem with the mixer?? Regards, Gary.

Hi Everyone,
i have been djing for 15 years i always used 1210s, cdj800s and pioneer djms
i changed to traktor3 and have used ever since i now use the s4
the reason i changed was that i liked the fact that all effects were quantized and loops were perfect.
2 weeks ago i had a go on my mates djm900 nexus and cdj900s.(first time ive used a mixer in years)
i have not enjoyed djing so much in years and am now looking at buying cdj900s
it makes the s4 feel toy like:(
i like the fact there is no easy sync option and that you get enjoyment out of beat mixing again
and interacting more with the crowd (instead of spending most of your gig looking at a laptop screen)
while the hardware takes care of the quantizing of the effects and perfect loops -great
BUT
my problem is that the cost of having quantized effects and perfect loops is very high compaired with
all the software and controller options.
Are pioneer considering a mixer similar to what denon have done with the dnx600 a stripped down version of the 1600.
2 channels , 2 colour effects filter/space (a knob on each channel) 6 to 10 beat effects flanger/gater/roll/echo/delay ..... a top quality djm 850/900 sound
with balanced xlr outputs and send and return so it could be used with rmx1000 with a cost of about £600-£800 where mobile djs
can afford to use pioneer.
everything is for bedroom dj or club install what about inbetween?
En parlant de DJM850, je ne comprends pas pourquoi que, quand j'utilise la sortie numérique ça saute, ça fait un peu comme un vinyle, je ne sais pas trop comment décrire. Pourriez-vous m'aider s'il vous plait, merci.
Hi everyone ! I'm a french DJ based in Marseille (south of France) ;
@DJ Val' > vérifie si ta DJM850 et ta carte son ou ampli sont bien configurés sur le même échantillonnage (44.1, 48 ou 96khz).
@Pioneer DJ team > I have one question about DJM850 : when using BEAT EFFECTS, if I select "AUTO BPM", the calculation is long (several seconds) and is not very accurate. I also have a RMX1000 which calculates the tempo in 1 second and very precisely. My question: a firmware update is it intended to improve the auto detection of BPM ?
I saw that DJM900nexus had a firmware update (v 1260 26 June 2012) that improves this point ("Improved accuracy of the AUTO BPM") : is scheduled for DJM850 ?
Thanks !
Hi !
Merci.
Hi everyone,
I'm having difficulty with the effecs cue, when I cue a channel and then cue the effects, I cant seem to hear the effect, only the channel.
for those wondering, yes i have the effect selector nob to the same channel that is cued.
If anyone has any idea of what it is, please let me know.
Thanks, Cheers
Hi, I've just got a set of djm 850 and a pair cdj 900.. how do i hook it up to my laptop and use rekordbox directly from my laptop and use the cdj's to control it.. do i still need to use timecode's /???
you need a network switch and 3 ethernet cables, plug in the 900's to the switch and your laptop to it, Then a "LINK" box will appear on the bottom left of RB, click on it and you are now linked. you can now look through you rb library from the 900 screen or drag and drop tracks from RB onto the decks that appear at the bottom. The DJM850 has no link to RB
or just for amusement, You could read the manual, LOL
After 4 years of service, I sold my DJM 700 due to the need for something new and more expanded. I'm planning on buying the DJM 800. 2 extra color FX and that touch thingy couldn't justify the extra 300,-'s.
Browsing these forums I do notice the DJM 850 is not receiving any firmware update, ene though the product has been out for quite some time. I'm pretty sure the 850 is not flawless. That worries me...
What's going on?
To my understanding, it never had a firmware upgrade.
now from my belief this mixer was a mistake by pioneer. they tried to do something between the 700 and the 900 ( where nothing was actually needed) and most people want the 900 for 2 reason. first its got a few extra bells and whistle like 2 extra color effect, link and digital in. and second because the 900 Nexus is pioneer Flagship. A lot of people are ready to pay a lot to be able to say i own the best from pioneer. Last December, Pioneer ran a special where if you purchased a DJM 850, you got a 300$ mail in rebate. The company generally never does that.
so i think there might be a firmware update down the road, but of course if they sell more 2000 nexus, they'll bring there attention to that.
@Jeroen > the mixer has never needed an update.
@FMT > an update for what? A firmware update hasn't been necessary.
The beat color effect takes a few second to adjust to the music, and thus becomes almost useless.
If a firm ware update could resolve it, it would be awesome.
Thanks
And from what I read there's an issue with either reverb or echo where the effect is just too loud.
Gavin, what you're saying is that the DJM 850 is a flawless product where as the DJM 900 received quite some updates. Yet the 850 is advertised as being build on the 900 foundation and just stripped of some functions. That would mean it would at least suffer from the same issues the 900 has.
I kinda agree with FMT, DJM 850 sounds like a redheaded stephchild.
Does anyone know if they are working on any updates to the firmware, I think the internal soundcard could sound better, I'm back to using the audio 4 sound card as I think it sounds a lot warmer, perhaps a bit different in the club, just wandered if anyone has tested it through a big pa and compared the difference, also the reverb could do with a slight cut on the low frequencies and perhaps a gentlier slope.
@FMT > Thanks for your feedback, I'll check it out.
@Jeroen > I'll check those out too. Yes, they're built on the same foundation but they're both built differently - so its not as simple as describing one as a stripped down version of the other - thats a very basic comparison.
@Claude > Thanks for your feedback - I'll pass this information along too.
