DJM 900 channel 2 distortion

I've had my 900 for a couple months now.  I use my 900 almost exclusively w/ Traktor Scratch Pro 2 and CDJ's w/timecode.  On 3 seperate occasions that I can remember,  I've had really bad distortion in channel 2 of the mixer (my deck A).  It's so bad you cant tell what song is playing.  The first couple times I thought it was because my sampling rates were different on the mixer and on Traktor.  I would turn off the mixer, reset everything, re-start Traktor, and everything would work for the short period I tested it.  This last time, I know for a fact the sample rates were set right.  I cant remember if it has happened with any other channel other than 2.  I'm thinking it's defective.  One common thing in all 3 occasions is that earlier in the day I will have a long session (2-5hrs), and when I start using the mixer again later in the day it will do this.  Any help guys??

For starters, I would try to change to channels 1&2. This way deck A will be CH1 and B on CH2 so you have moved your decks around.

OR

Try to use two separate channels that you normally do not use (for a while) to see if you will have the problem follow.  This could tell you if it's hardware or SW.

Have you ever had this issue with CDs?

What were you doing in Traktor when the issue occurred? Anything in common on the three occasions?

one more thing...

How do you fix this after it happens? what exactly do you do?

Thanks for the reply.  I actually use all 4 channels on the mixer all the time and I dont remember it ever happening on any other channel than #2.   Normally I would shut down the mixer,  change around the sampling rate, re-start the mixer and everything would work.  This time I played around with some other things before I shut down the mixer and re-started.  One thing I tried was flipping the decks around, and I still got distortion.  In all 3 occasions I was scratching in the next song on Deck A when it happened.

Some things you should add here for others to help you out.

What version Traktor are you using? What version FW do you have on the DJM? Are you on windows or mac?

Try changing your USB cable (worth a shot). And maybe reinstall drivers and your mixer's FW if that was touched before you started to experience this.

Good luck & if I think of anything else I'll post for you.

Thanks again for your help.  Firmware 1.21 and Asio 1.303 (latest firmware was already loaded in when I got it.  Windows 7.  Traktor 2.13,,,I think it happened on 2.12 also.

Hrm, certainly an interesting case.  Give it a shot with the new Traktor 2.5 and see if anything similar occurs.

Hey Pulse,  Their are some DVS issues I had w/ 2.5 so I reverted back to 2.13 before I could test.  I'm thinking I might have just gotten a lemon.  I'm taking it to a authorized repair shop and we'll see what happens from there
