uh.. probably you could run the djm 800 through your serato box since it is a souncard , don't ask me on serato though.
i usually use a RCA -> Stereo 3.5jack from the rec out to the mic port of my lap and record with audacity/FL
i have the the macbook pro that dosent have an input jack for recording i was wondering if thru a midi usb cable could i just use serato to record a mix?

thats what i was planning on doing but my mac has only headphone jack that cant be switched from output to input, and the guys at the store when i bought didnt tell me i would need the 15 in
I am not a pro at this but I don't think MIDI has any sound that goes through it. It's just data, so MIDI has nothing to do with your recording.
Do you use Serato? If so, then use Serato to record. You need a external sound card to record with or a recorder like picture below.
that external sound card looks like it will do the trick i dont use any software its just i dont have anything to record with because i have the mac 13in so i was looking for other routes
