@Steve > Do you get a buzzing noise further along the audio chain in the speakers? Or is this isolated to the headphones only above a certain volume?

SeguirDJM-800 buzz/noise in headphone cue
I recently bought a second hand DJM-800 and tried it out to test everything. The only problem I found was with the headphone cue. Once I turn up the headphone volume past halfway it begins to make a buzzing type of noise. Is this normal? Or is it a grounding problem or something?

Gavin, I have only hooked up small speakers through rca at the moment because I do not have PA's to test with xlr or trs yet. Through rca though I did not hear any noise in the speakers. I only heard it through the headphones and it only started after the volume was turned past the 1/3 or 1/2 level. It can be heard on every cue channel too.
Have you tried reversing the polarity of the plug in the wall (just take it out, flip it around and plug it back in). If that doesn't have any effect and you've tried power-cycling the unit then you may need to contact technical support to arrange a service.
Flipping the polarity? The power cord I am using is a 3 prong one that I found laying around because the seller did not include the original one. Is the original supposed to only have 2 prongs?
Ok, thats not an option for you then. I'm going to have to say that this might be a hardware problem in which case you'll need to contact technical support - links are in the column on the right >>
I have had weird buzzing in the past with mixers but not my DJM 800. usually you fix them by replacing a RCA. I know that your speakers work fine so that is not the problem but give it a try. get a good pair of RCA and test it. the best way to test is, if you have traktor or serato, to see if the scopes pick up background noise when the decks are not playing. if they are you can probably fix it by replacing the RCA. a way to test your headphone controls is to turn all the switches and knobs on them and see if you still have the same problem the whole way through.
