Setup DJM 350 as external mixer with Ableton

Hello,

I have the 350 setup and I've successfully been able to dj using Ableton to load the tracks and the CDJ-350 as MIDI controllers but obviously, the sound comes out of the laptop, thing is, I would like to have the sound coming through the mixer (DJM-350) and THEN to the speakers, to be able to use the EQs and built in effects of the mixer.

What hardware configuration do I need to do this? Any tutorials/videos on the subject would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

@Rodezno > To do this you need to configure the audio output to pass through the built in soundcards within the CDJs (just select the CDJs within the audio settings). Then the audio path will run from the laptop to CDJ to mixer to speakers. You can apply the effects from the mixer onto the audio received from the CDJs.

I'm afraid I don't have Ableton on PC but I do on Mac - I'll do my best to help you. So first off you are going to need the CDJ drivers for your computer - you can find them here: http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/support/software/CDJ-350/page.html#download_160

Then you'll need to modify the audio settings in Ableton and choose the Pioneer ASIO driver settings. This should allow you to send audio out by two channels.

Gotta say kudos for Pioneer Forums and for you Gavin, really helpful hints and very quick responses. Just to add a little more depth on the subject to anyone with this same setup, you might experience sound going on and off with the initial configuration, I think cause of pc performance issues, but this is easyly solved by going to the Pioneer CDJ driver configuration tool and incrementeing the number of samples to from the initial 64 to say 120 to give the pc a little more buffer to process the sound signal, so far I've been djing with zero latency.

Thanks again Gavin, keep up the good work!
