[SOLVED] Low volume levels when played back ....

How are you recording the mix - what output on the mixer - what interface - what software?

I am using a USB stick plugged in to the DJM 350, you can record directly onto it .........

Apoologies issues with my laptop, anyway all rebuilt and we are backup, I have installed audacity and below is a screen shot of the mix ...

As a workaround at the moment I have to turn up the master volume to around 3/4 but then all my channel LED fader are in the red, I cant seem to get that balance......

I have read the documents but still don't understand how this may resolve the problems that I have.  The documents discuss cabling, sound cards and windows in generating the source file.  I am using the standard  built in functionality from the DJM to record my output via the integrated USB stick....... its all out the box.  I really don't want to start having to plug in my laptop etc to capture the output which is what I thought the DJM would do automatically for me :(

In the meantime I just increase the trim, yeah the LEDS turn red but when I listen to the output its certainly louder and I cannot hear to much distortion !!

Still any other tips would be appreciated

@Nick > My apologise, I confused myself when I mentioned Audacity earlier in the thread.

So lets run through things again.

• Have a cleanly formatted USB stick, to FAT32.

• Adjust the master level output so that the orange indicator on the master level indicator lights at the peak level.

• Watch your signals on the individual channels

This is how I started and when I played it back I noticed the problem, I have now resorted to just increasing the master volume and the trim.  Did the waveform that I attached look OK to you  ??

If you think the levels are too low, try using the volume adjust on the recording within Audaacity. It's better to have it too low during recording and boost it after, that way you don't digitally clip the recording.
