[CLOSED] djm2000(n) faders

I am interested in upgrading to a djm2000. I want to know what type of faders this mixer uses. Are they the no contact magnetic style (optical, whatever they are called)  or the "standard " faders that will bleed over time. I have done some research online and can not find this out. Any pioneer reps know the answer,  thank you!

Standard carbon rail, although it's a digital mixer so they only attenuate a voltage not the audio signal itself.

Thanks for the info, since it is digital, would they last longer then a standard analog mixers faders?

The fader will last as long as any other carbon rail fader, which should be years if looked after correctly. They mostly fail due to dust /debris ingress or heavy handed use. Covering the unit up when not in use is always good practice.

The fact it's digital should make for an improved signal even with a slightly worn fader, as you won't get a crackle or pop, just a drop out.

Good to know I will keep that in mind. thanks for your reply, very helpful. Still trying to decide if I should get the 2000n or wait for the next generation mixer to be released

You can spend your life waiting for the next model!

If you want more reading search Google or Wikipedia for VCA (Voltage Controlled Attenuator), Wikipedia has a page under Variable-gain amplifiers, with a subsection of 'sound mixing consoles' which explains it in a bit more (although not great) detail.
