@Renato > Have you run your setup wizard to select the configuration as 2-Decks / 2 Sample-Decks?
Hi,
I use DDJ T1 with Traktor Pro2 on Macbook Pro.
I know we can use decks C+D as sample decks, with Pioner V101.tsi but if if we load a track into C or D, it wont play.
If we switch it to use C+D as track decks, no samples can be done
My question is, can we assign deck C as track deck and D as Sample deck and make it work properlly?
Please help.
Thank you,
Renato

I think I have done that.
What I want is to use 3 track decks + 1 sample deck, is that possible?
No, Traktor doesn't allow that configuration. You get 4 decks or 2/2 splits, that's all.
Traktor Pro 2 seems to allow 3 tracks decks +1 sample deck. I'm new to TP2 so I haven't actually tested it, but here's what I came up with. However advanced features are not available on C & D..with D as a sample deck.
Thank you Pulse.
Hi Greg,
I can make it look like that in the picture, but if the .tsi is set for 2 sample decks and If i change C for track deck, when a track is loaded to C , it won't play.
On the contrary, if we have 4 track decks and you change C or D for sample deck, when you make a sample, it will not play.
Please try.
Thank you.
Okay, firstly I must say, at best I'm a novice user, and still very much learning to use Traktor. It appears to me that Traktor Pro does support 3 tracks decks + 1 sample deck. I did get this configuration to work, albeit with somewhat limited controller function. Attached is a photo showing all 3 decks playing along with 4 loops, as indicated by the green highlighted play buttons. I say somewhat limited function because I could only get the loops to play, by using my mouse, so either this is due to my "newb-ness or this particular configuration is not "fully" supported by the Pioneer DDJ-T1. Oh and I completely re-installed Traktor this morning... just to isolate this test to insure nothing from previous version were causing any conflict.
Also I'm a PC user, and not sure if your problems are in anyway attributed to you using a Mac. If you can't get your loops to play at all..even using the 2+2 configuration...there maybe something going on with your set up.
I've found this forum as well as the Native Instruments forum, and various youtube videos very helpful with many of the questions I've had about Traktor and my DDJ-T1. Heres a link to one by The DJ Podcast, that shows a 3+1 configuration at the start of the video. They have an enitre series you may be interested in viewing.

Duh, after reading the TSI import guide, I discovered I can get the sample decks to play by activating needle search function button... and using the needle search to play the samples decks...rather than my mouse.
Hi Greg,
thanx for all your support. I did nbot have opportunity to try Traktor since yesterday.
I can opperate 2 track + 2 sample decks perfectly with needlesearch control , but if change 1 of the sample decks to track deck, it loads track blank and does not play it.
If I use 4 track decks and change 1 deck to sample deck, it does not load any sample.
It's appears Pulse is correct and a 3+ 1 configuration is not supported on Pioneer controllers and your only choice is 2+2...(as a 3+1 will cause issues) I would be interested to know if this is exclusive to the DDJ-T1 in comparison to the Traktor S4. Personally I'm having some buyers remorse, while the DDJ-T1 is a beautiful controller, the S4 seems like a better choice to use with Traktor.
All hope is not lost though... with Traktor 2.5 less than a month away...and the Traktor Kontrol F1 as a dedicated remix deck controller for around $250, which may make these sample deck issues obsolete, lets hope Pioneer fully supports the F1. :)
Hi Greg,
Some friend have S4 and it works 3+1 well.
I don't know why NI or Pioneer couldn't make it work on DDJ T1. Maybe soon it will .. :)
Other way is, using 4 track decks, make a loop on any deck and drag it to C or D, and play it like a sample...
Cheers,
Renato
Again Greg,
I found this article, it seems no great news for the future. I think NI wants to push S4 sells...
Cheers,
