@Nik > That software is all looking for a DirectX driver, which the ERGO does not use, it uses an ASIO driver. Have you tried using some DJ software such as Virtual DJ (included with the ERGO) or Serato Intro (free online)?
Hi, i am finally at a loose end in trying to set up my DDJ ergo. After owning the controller for about a month or so now i still cant get it to work on my windows 7 64-bit laptop. The most frustrating this is it all works fine with my partners macbook. I have followed lots of different advice from different forums but still no joy. i have the latest drivers installed along with the latest firmware. when i turn my ergo on it also doesn't play sound through (i.e. from itunes, wmp, winamp etc...) i just want to get mixing is there anybody that can help me with it please? i followed the step by step tutorial on installation and that also didnt work. any help greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading, Nik

Hi, firstly thank you for such a quick response. Secondly yes i have tried both, VDJ shows the error 'Error with you ASIO soundcard' message upon startup of the program. With regards to Serato all i get is the 'Hardware Disconnected' flashing message with this. I really dont know what to try next...
@Nik > With VDJ, it's likely that you simply haven't configured the soundcards correctly. With Intro, it sounds like you didn't properly apply the firmware update. Watch the video below:
Hi, again thank you for the fast response. Just watched the video, reinstalled VDJ exacly the same as the video, updated firmware again, and also drivers for windows and still have the same problem (message with error with ASIO in VJD, and no hardware on serato) i am usually quite clued up with things like this on windows but really have no idea how it cannot work on windows for me but perfectly fine on macbook?
I'm going to assume you've installed the ASIO drivers properly and then configured VDJ as per 1:35 of the video?
certainly have, just uninstalled everything to start again and still getting exacly the same issue. As of 1.35 of the video as soon as i switch the options i get the ASIO error message. there must be a conflict somewhere but i cannot think where, i have closed every running application possible and still no joy. i tried ringing Pioneer helpline earlier but it was far to busy so had to hang up (again, thank you for responding so quickly)
Have you opened the DDJ ASIO settings utility to see what the settings are there?
This is what i have there.... (see attached file)
Try bumping it down to 16bits.
still the same unfortunately. but also once VDJ is opened, after the error messages, the MIDI controls also don't seem to work (cross fader, control knobs etc) is this problem linked with the ASIO sound issue or another issue all together?
Have you tried connecting the USB cable to another port? I wonder if it's something to do with the OS and the drivers.
Still no joy in the other USB port. just the same. i have to go out for the evening but thank you for all your quick responses. i will try and ring the helpline tomorrow and try to get some resolution. thanks again
If they point you back here, I can certainly continue to help. ;)
I have the exact same problem and have tried all of these different things, it will play if not set on asio but then headphones wont work so it needs to be on asio but i get an error message saying something about the sound card is not connected or the settings are not right??
