DDJ-S1 Track Freeze

Ive had my DDJ-S1 for 7 months now and im having issues with it loading tracks for about the first 30 minutes.  It powers on fine and I can pull from my hard drive with no problems.  As soon as cue the song it starts flickering (like a 1/16 beat loop) and I cant do anything with it resulting in me having to force close.  This doesnt do it when simply load it to itch.  As soon as I plug in and turn on the unit is when this Chaos all starts.

Ive re-installed drivers for both software and DDJ and still the same results.  After about 20 to 30 minutes it decides to start working playing the same songs that i had originally loaded thus not being a problem with the file.   It seems to randomly do the same thing during the middle of my set or after i put a longer pre recorded mix on.  My laptop is well over the minimum requirements.  im running a Hp dv4 intel i5 processor with 2.64 Ghz, 4gig ram and 640 HD.  This laptop is solely used for dj'ing so there are no other programs on it to ensure that I didnt have problems with ram or speed.

Ive tried adjusting the buffer size and no response.  Ive also tried other usb cables thinking that maybe they were old and I purchased all gold plated cables and stil the same result.

Ive seen in some other threads that it could possibly be the amount of songs that are loaded onto itch which I have created smaller crates and loaded fewer songs and still see the same problem.  Is this a known issue before i send it out for repair?  Doing something wrong here?

Hello!

Are you using any external mouse or keyboard? If YES, unplug ANY external mouse and keyboard and check if ITCH will work fine.

In some notebooks with Intel Chipset, have a "overload" in USB 2.0 ports when using external keyboard and mouse with DDJ-S1. The problem is that the manufacturer, to reduce costs, concentrates ALL USB 2.0 ports in one hub root, this is bad! For office use is good, but for more professional use is bad!

If your notebook have a USB 3.0 port, plug DDJ-S1 in this port and external devices in USB 2.0 port.

Post your results here.

Cheer!

No I am not using an external mouse or keyboard. I just played around with it and it seems to be getting progressively worse. It shows on the uper left of itch that im going in to the red (which I assume is PC use) and I get alot of static and skipping. The only two USB cables that are plugged in are my external hd and my ddj-s1. Whats wierd is that I recorded my mix session and the recording came out fine but sounded horrible during my actual session.

Hi. I've had my ddj S1 for 9 years and just recently it started doing what your controller is doing. I'm using a 2017 Macbook pro touchbar. just recently about 2 months ago the problem it started. I can't seem to fix it. Ugh!
