[SOLVED] DDJ WeGo - Monitor buttons not working - Virtual DJ LE7

Hello, I've just bought the DDJ WeGO and I'm having a bit of an issue.

The monitor function is not working properly. I cannot monitor the track I'm trying to cue up. (Virtual DJ LE 7) (Win 7, 32, SP1) (FW 1.04)

It appears the two CUE buttons with pictures of headphones do nothing. The knob which varies the mix between cue and master does nothing.

If I have Deck A's cue button ON, crossfader fully on Deck B so deck B is playing out the main speakers. All I hear in the headphones is deck B. I'd expect this if the cue / master mix knob was at max or if the cue light was on for deck B but if I turn the knob counter clockwise fully to cue - it's still deck B I hear and the volume hasn't faded. I can only hear deck A from the headphones when I move the crossfader so it's coming out the main speakers.

Config: Outputs - (headphones) Master: Front output / Headphones: Rear output.

I tried upgrading to Virtual DJ Pro for more config options: selecting chanels 1&2 Master / 3&4 Headphones as suggested in manual doesn't work either.

Can anyone help? Does this sound like a config issue or a hardware problem? I've tried upgrading FW from 1.00 > 1.04 and also re-installing Virtual DJ from scratch. I haven't tried any other SW products such as Traktor yet to test if the problem is with Virtual DJ? It seems as if the cue buttons on the mixer have not been mapped properly - they essentially do nothing at present.

Is it worth asking the shop I bought it from to replace or will Pioneer's warranty cover this to have a direct replacement from the manufacturer?

Thanks,

Ewan

I've nearly got to the bottom of it.

I did exactly the same steps with my wife's laptop. Works on hers no problem. My laptop is the problem.

It's on Win 7, 32bit, SP1 and fully updated with patches etc. Both our laptops are HP, very similar spec / age and O/S.

It's probably something to do with the abundance of software on mine. Hers is pretty much a fresh install - I install a lot of programs - it could do with a fresh install.

There was an old version of Virtual DJ already on my laptop - maybe a clean removal was required first?

I'll sort my laptop out - if I find the culprit software I'll report on here so others who may have the same problem can easily resolve.

in VDJ use Pioneer DDJ WeGo as ASIO driver, both cue/play will work. if i use my computer sound card, it plays fine but cue/pre-listening don't work

Thanks SoupRice, it was already using WeGo as the ASIO driver - that's what was confusing me. I've resolved the problem though. I believe it was due to an older version of Virtual DJ already on my laptop. I cleanly removed both versions and re-installed the WeGo LE version. Works fine. Exact same settings as I was using when it didn't work. I'd already removed/re-installed the LE version only - this made no difference. It was only removing the old version of VDJ that resolved. Cheers all.
