DDJ-SX Shipping Shortage

I had to come on here and see if anyone else is ****** off with Pioneer dropping the ball with the DDJ SX. I'm one of the many DJ's who pre-ordered this unit only to be told I wouldn't be receiving it for at least another month because Pioneer decided to either produce or ship only "a few" units at a time. Who's the genius that didn't think this controller wouldn't sell like hot cakes. A unit like this could easily go for at least $2k so for it to be priced at $1k is crazy. Any decent DJ who cares about quality is hopping on this controller asap.

I've called damn near every place that would sell this unit on the east coast and NOBODY has it in stock....and they are all saying that they've only received a few shipments and those shipments did not have as many units as demanded. Pre-orders haven't even been filled yet. How is this even possible? Especially from a company like Pioneer!! It's ridiculous.

@Riff > There are many things that can affect the supply chain - and obviously its in Pioneers best interest to ship as many units as possible. Such things happen however and dates can change. I'm sure you'll get your unit very soon.

Pioneer has really Pissed me off with this one, I bought mine, took it home and it was defective out of the box, took it back to the dealer to find out it was the last one in the area, here i am waiting for it to be replaced been almost 1.5 months and im still waiting.

I got similar problem, i buy DDJ-SX. The first delivery date was 15 Dec then after the Christmas.... 15 Jan.... now maybe 31 Jan... Gavin could you ask somone about then REAL DATE of delivery?? I buy DDJ in Poland, but i now the Pioneer got the main store in Belgium. Gav I hope that is not a problem I prefer to know the approximate date from you Gav becose I stopped believing Pioneer Agent PLS HELP ;)

My delivery date has been pushed back 2 months already. I called Musicians Friend whom I ordered from and the representative there told me that Pioneer has missed 4 shipping dates on the unit? Seriously? I just want to know when I can actually get my DDJ, its been a few months, and makes me never want to deal with Pioneer again.

Any news on the shipping date for UK? I was considering ordering one but if the date is still unknown I'll probably just go for the VCi-400

They wont comment 2 months now waiting for them to replace a defective unit out if the box, im going to ask the dealer for my money back.

Thanks for the heads up James. That's pretty shocking mate. Didn't realise you were still waiting on a replacement. To me you should be priority of getting a replacement. Hope you get something sorted soon.

Actually, it is not in the best of interest for Pioneer to ship as many out in once as possible. From a business pov it's much wiser to set up a production line that does not need adjusting after the first couple of delivery rounds are through. Hiring temps and having to increase the production line just to lower them after a couple of months is often more inefficient and thus more expensive.

Let's just be glad they sell the DDJ-SX for so little to us :)

I have no confirmation on this, I will inquire and see what I can find out. The SX has been selling out every where in the world, but again I can not say for sure that you're waiting until March.
