[SOLVED] DDJ-SX screen print wearing off

I've had a search and can't see any other topic started so here goes~

I've had my SX since launch date in November, the other night when I needed a bit more illumination on the decks (dark venue) I noticed the print on fader 3 was wearing thin. The markers/ lines are starting to show wear.

My DJM 3000 mixer which I have had for over 10 years is like new. No signs of wear at all.

Anyone else have the print rubbing/ wearing off?

What can I do? It seems very poor for a unit under a year old.

I can understand wear and tear but this is ridiculous!

Nothing?

No reply not even from the support email I also sent. Cheers Pioneer!

Hi Gavin

What's up with customer support. No reply to an email I sent on the 5th.

Last time I called them they had no idea on how the SX worked when I had an issue when I bought it. Shocking!

Anyway back on topic, here's a new pic showing the wear on ch3 and also ch1 (which I use all the time) is starting to show a small amount of wear>>>

@Gilbz > I'm sorry they didn't get back to you - I'm not sure why that may have been.

In regards to your issue, that wear and tear is pretty normal - the print will have different reactions to body chemistry / chemical contact and general wear and tear - particularly, as you point out, you use the next channel all the time.

NO!!!!!!! I use ch1 all the time. This is CH3 wearing thin. Look at the manual and you will see the first CH is CH3. Gavin I have a lot of respect for you (helped me before) but do you know the SX? The order of the faders??????

Ch3 I use for the mic, which has minimal use. (left hand channel fader 1)

To say it's wear & tear is making me laugh! Seriously?

8 months of use on a channel I barely use and this happens.

My DJM 3000 is coming up 11 years old, not a single wear in site. I look after my gear. Do you want a photo of this side by side with the SX to prove it?

Pioneer cutting corners on cheap printing or.......... my SX had some kind of contamination causing the print to wear in that area quicker.

I am also the only user, I guess my body chemicals have altered with age. Sorry but that is a very poor excuse.

Guess I will have to buy a piece of sticky plastic to cover my SX and then make it look cheap

Pioneer never got back to me as they don't want to know. A Pioneer rep at the BPM show in the UK said it was bad if the print had worn and told me to contact you guys and you'll resolve it. Obviously he knows very little, or has been given the impression from his training that Pioneer look after their customers! He needs to be retrained!

Yes, I know the product well and I'm imagining if you use your left hand on channel one then it is probably resting on channel three.

If you are unsatisfied with the product I urge you to contact the Customer Support helpline 0330 123 1240 or 0870 600 1539.
