[SOLVED] Thinking of switching from traktor pro 2.6 to serato dj/ddj SX N

Has anyone played with the serato dj and the izo effects it has along with the pack that you need to purchase for more effects.  Is it worth it in your opinion?  I own traktor pro 2.6 and have been a traktor owner for the past few years.  The only reason why I am thinking of changing is because the ddj sx has such great reviews and I love the jogs and layout it has.  To bad NI messed up and did not take the ddj sx popular jog wheels and drum pads into consideration.  I love traktor effects but heard that serato's new izo effects are not professional sounding is this true?  Does serato dj have anything over traktor pro 2.6?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

I just bought the DDJ-SX-W and I love it! I haven't tried all the effects yet but I think they sounds really good.

There's a couple of Traktor mappings for the DDJ-SX and I've tried this one from JaJa Artwork: https://maps.djtechtools.com/mappings/1336

JaJa's Traktor mapping works really well and you can easily re-map buttons to suit your needs, but I decided to switch to Serato DJ and give it a try and so far I love it.

I'm not a fan of the DDJ-SX or Serato DJ....as a Traktor user I was disappointed with the child like simplicity of the Serato DJ UI and features, but somehow it's the most popular DJ software for the club environment.  My biggest complaint, as a former DDJ-SX owner and Serato DJ user...was the lack of effects on the mic  which was a deal breaking for me.  Also, when I used it split cue wasn't working...but that's been some time ago maybe they've fixed it by now.

I did like the performance pads of the DDJ-SX...but you can get those for under $250 by adding an Native Instruments F1 or a midi fighter...why spend $999 for a DDJ-SX for performance pads? IJS

Serato has always been my favourite rather than Traktor so I guess a lot comes down to what you are familiar with. I love the interface and features and functionality in the unit (its perfect for mobile gigs!). The quality of sound is perfect, not sure who has been feeding information otherwise.

See if you can test out the unit before you buy, I'm sure you'll love it.
