My DDJSX2 is not lighting up or producing sound

I just bought my SX2 today. Everything was working fine after unboxing it and plugging everything in. After letting the controller sit for about 15 minutes, I came back to find all the lights were off. I turned the controller off and unplugged everything. After letting it sit for a couple minutes I plugged everything back in and turned it on, but it failed to light up again. Serato DJ still recognizes it, and I can even control tracks. But nothing lights up and no sound is produced. I am currently attempting to update the firmware but the lights never came on after holding shift and sync to update it, and the update itself has been stuck on 0% for the last 30 minutes.

@Sean > That doesn't sound good... it could be a bad power supply or failed SX2, but if you just bought it today I would take it back to your dealer and ask for an exchange on a DOA controller.

Update on the problem. Seeing as how my local dealer was closed over the weekend. I let the DDJ sit for a while. Plugged it back in, and everything worked fine for about 30 minutes. Then shut off again. Tried turning it back on, no lights or anything. Let it sit for an hour or so and turned it back on, everything worked fine again for about 10 minutes then the same issue.

I'll probably be taking it back to the dealer tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anyone was having a similar issue that could be solved without replacing the unit.

Yeah, too random to pinpoint but as I mentioned, it seems that it's either a bad power supply or failed unit. Sorry!

@eric > Same thing - it could be a failing power supply or problematic controller. If you have the ability to test it with another power supply or even another computer (or both), that would help narrow down the source.

Hi, i have the same problem with pioneer dd. sx2, i purchased first unit from B&H after using for 30 minutes all the lights comes off but the software was still recognising the hardware with all functions working like cue scratch etc. i returned to B&H and they sent me new unit , after using the new unit for few days it started the same problem like the first unit, the firmware version is 1.05 ..if anyone can help i will appreciate, I'm in Tanzania, east africa 255, there is no nearest service centre for pioneer.

You have to update your firmware and make sure you are using the newest version of Serato

@Denis > Do you have the ability to test it with a different computer? It could be that you're having problems with the communication to the computer.

@Denis > Have you checked that the power supply is correct? In Tanzania the power is 230V / 50Hz, correct? The DC adapter that ships with the SX2 should be universal 110-240V / 50-60Hz, but please check that it is not overheating or failing.

@Denis > Just to confirm, it worked properly for the first few days, then stopped illuminating, but it still sends control signal and is able to perform within Serato. Does the audio still output? Does the meter show the signal level?
