[CLOSED] Swap Dj Ergo for XDJ-Aero?

Hi, I was just wondering is it worth swapping my Pioneer Dj Ergo for the new Pioneer Dj XDJ-Aero. Is the new XDJ-Aero worth that bit more money? Is there much difference between the 2 decks apart from the bluetooth? I love the look of the new XDJ-Aero :). If you say yes then I will order a set. Thanks for any info. Mark

I think it is too early now to make a well based decision.

If you wait untill the end of this month there will be plenty of in-depth reviews on the new unit since it is going to be in stores end of augusts/first week of september.

Then you could make op your mind and compare the two.

Your right, I should wait for some videos on Youtube first of the reviews. Can this new system work without a computer? Can you plug it straight into an Amp and run it without software? Thanks

From what I've read you can. You could connect 4 devices to your Aero (with WIFI) and load tracks onto it.

It's a pretty awesome piece of kit and certainly goes above and beyond what the ERGO is capable of.  The AERO has analog line / phono inputs, a USB connection direct (plus recording to the USB) as well as Wi-Fi support for up to 4 devices.  The app will also allow you to navigate the contents of the USB device so you don't need to use the 3 lines of LCD display on the AERO itself.  It will also do MIDI control, so it has a LOT to offer and is more justified in having a higher price tag.

I think I will too. I was going to get the DJM 250 and the CDJ 350's but this is better imo. Will there be any better demos videos of the unit.

I was looking into getting the CDJ 350's also, but the Aero looks like it's a good system. I can't wait to see more video's of it in action.

@Mark > Jog wheels feel great - I prefer them to that of the DDJ-T1 for example.

@Noor > Yes, there will be plenty more videos to come.

@tony > You are very welcome to the forums but please open your own topic for any questions you may have in the future.

The XDJ-Aero and the S1 are very different units. The XDJ Aero is a rekordbox controller and multi media player - the S1 is a controller for Serato Itch and, as of today, Serato DJ. So the question is, do you want to move to rekordbox and have more media inputs?

Hey Tony,

I just got the Aero yesterday. I'd say the main advantage of having the Aero is being able to use the same library that I use when DJing at clubs on CDJs. I didn't want to have a separate Traktor or Serato library (that being said, I would love to see Serato DJ support added). So if you're playing often at clubs, then this is something to consider. The feel isn't anywhere near that of top CDJ lines, but it's definitely a nice compromise to have at home.

If you're just looking into buying an Aero for personal use, then maybe try to figure out what it is that you find lacking in the S1. The effects aren't anything out of this world (reverb would have been awesome, and the echo is nowhere near as good as in the DJM-900 - I happen to prefer delay, also), but still a welcome addition.

As for the wifi, at first I had completely disregarded this feature, due to some of the negative comments I had heard, but after having tried it, there's actually no reason for me to ever plug in my USB. It works flawlessly.

Good luck with your decision!
