XDJ-Aero wireless

Hi, I have a question about the XDJ-Aero. Say I am upstairs at home and I have the Aero setup playing a set / mix. Will the tracks I want in the mix have to be on my iphone 4, or will they stream to the Aero from the pc downstairs, that I have all my music on? My iphone 4 is only a 16GB one, with not much room left on it. I have just bought a USB flash drive for it, that is 64GB. I bought that so I can record my mixes onto it, and maybe store some music on it. Thanks for any info. Mark

Wow now if they put that on the 2000 you are looking at some serious money man! But will be off the hook

But I think they will put hot cues on it. Maybe on there next firmware update. Can't really see this unit without hot cues

I am jealous too!!! lol

I do hope they incorporate hot starts somehow, we shall see

I cant see them being much more then the 2000's are now, I would think a big cost of the 2000 now is the screen, if this technology is in the players, make a unit with all the 2000 features but with a screen like the Aero being that we can use a tablet as the screen

Well I think if all goes good with the xdj aero and its wireless and all. We might see big thing with cdj unit or will they still be called cdj? And how the heck djsince has an xdj aero. Is it out yet? I really hope all goes good with the xdj aero. Cuz if not pulse and Gavin going to get hammered out there with the forum. Those poor guys always get clobbered out there. Is like they made the unit them self.

yeah, I am disappointed in the lack of hot starts and multiple cues, So many dj's use these on almost every track they drop in, This is going to be a big reason people back away from the unit or return it after they realize they dont have any, I know 3 sales they already lost, lol

Ah, but there is the possibility ... Shift + 1, 2, 3, 4... currently unused!

They are in the shops in the UK.  they arrived last Friday afternoon and mine came last Saturday.

Some places ran out of stock, but there should be some available I think.

I've spent the morning playing the unit and am very impressed.

Pioneer have done very well with this.

There are a lot of comments out on the net which are critical, but they obviously havent had a look at one or used one or in most cases even looked at the manual.

In a way I think the Pioneer video, whilst good, is a bit over the head of a lot ofpeople and a simple walk through of all the features as well would have helped to avoid the misconceptions.

nice, lets see how they implement it, sounds good though. If its a hot start like the ABC's on the 2000, the "shift" 1 is a little rough when you are on the fly hitting it quick, but memory cues using shift isnt bad being that it jumps to a cue point and pauses

Only one thing I'm not so keen on is that as soon as a track is loaded it begins to play "by factory default" as Pioneer say.

Haven't found a way to stop that yet and can't find it in the manual.

the other thing I know will annoy me is when you load a track from a search or dropping in from a device, you cant scratch on the first beat with major platter drifting because the platter marker stops at the 00:00:00 mark when goin back instead of letting it fall behind the numbers to give it some play

Hmmm

haven't tried that, but I know what you mean.

Kool thanks for the info djsince. And brichi I saw that video you talking about with the scratch test. Am sure it might get fix with update firmware. Oh one more thing. How is the MT on the xdj I know the 2000 had issue with it

I have just come home to find my Aero sitting on the table for me. First thoughts is the quality is very good. The jog wheels are very nice! Now how do I power it up lol, also does any software work with this deck yet? I think I need to pull out the manual :)

Well I got the audio working fine. I am using Rekordbox to mix with. I am pulling tunes into each deck. I love the Aero, it's 10 times better than the Ergo I was using. I am still stuck on how to connect my iphone 4 up with the Aero

yes, from the manul

This unit is equipped with a 3-band equalizer allowing the volume of the high, medium and low frequency ranges to be adjusted separately. Not only can the tone be adjusted to your tastes, the sound for a certain range can be turned completely off by turning the control all the way counterclockwise (isolator function).

I have a few questions about the Aero.

  1. Does this unit have beat lock, so the BPM is locked everytime a track is put on (same BPM all the time)? I heard this but I can't find it.

  2. What is the Master button for below the Level control panel?

  3. The cross fade curve is new to me, what is it for? It's probably something simple. I was just about to try it out but my Rekordbox is not connection at the moment with my Aero.

  4. Can the Rekordbox show a track being played on the Aero playing on Rekordbox on the pc,  like a wave style file playing while the track is on? The Rekordbox on the pc is boring, you just drag the files into the little decks at the bottom of the screen, but no action at the top of Rekordbox showing the look of the track as it's on live, the breaks and so on. If you know what I mean lol.
