Problems using XDJ-Aero with Traktor

Hi everyone,

Just set up the Aero with Traktor and i'm banging my head against a brick wall struggling to get a few important features working.

First of all i've followed all of the instructions, imported the TSI file and have most features fully functional.

However, I can't hear the cue tracks through the headphones connected to the Aero. Can hear the master through them no probs,

Also - and this is really winding me up - i can't use the jog wheel to scratch (vinyl mode)?! But i've seen people scratching with no probs online.

Finally, I can't get any of the Traktor effects to work through the Aero. I'm following the Pioneer instructions & diagram and getting nothing. I can't cycle or skip through the effects therefore can't activate or hear any of them.

Any help would be massively appreciated because I am close to ditching the Aero and trying something less buggy - At the weekend I took my Aero to a bar I was DJing at and the wireless feature kept disconnecting after 3-4 tracks to then getting "loading disabled" so ended up switching to CDJ's.

So either i'm retarded and should stick to vinyl/CD's, or i'm having the worst luck either with faulty gear, or the Aero is simply shit and not worth £800.

I REALLY want this bit of kit to work so again I would really like some pointers as to what is going wrong.

Cheers

DK

Hi,

I have a very similar problem.  I am using a Windows XP PC with Traktor Scratch Pro 2.0.1.  I load the TSI file however many of the controllers dont work especially the jog wheel? I read in the pioneer support page:

@Precautions before TRAKTOR PRO 2 Ver.2.6.0 update:

-TRAKTOR PRO 2 Ver.2.6.0 only supports Windows 7 operating system.

Windows XP or Windows Vista is no longer supported. For details, visit Native Instruments WEB site

IS THERE ANY WAY TO WORK WITH WWINDOWS XP PC WITH XDJ AERO?

Rgds,

Jorge

hey Jorge. When they say "Win XP is not supported" it means they don't offer help with that OS... (because its 10 years outdated). It Doesn't say it won't work, it just means its not worth their time providing support for XP anymore.

If you update Traktor to 2.6 you will find it works much better - even on windows XP. I keep an XP machine as backup and for doing firmware mods with my Voxoa equipment, and Traktor 2.6 runs perfectly.

If you have Mapping issues Traktor 2.6 is much easier when you modify / Make your own maps.. its a very useful skill to learn, and its not that hard if you persevere for a few hours and read the midi forum.

Good luck bro.
