Hi all, i am thorougly confused and after sitting on this for almost an hour trying different things, reading online and checking videos... hope someone here can shed some light on this.
I have an XDJ-XZ which i use for small gigs. When i play in a club or other venue i use the gear thats there, usually CDJ 2000NX2 or 3000. I just got back to DJinig after a 17 year abscence, so this whole rekordbox thing is quite new to me.
Now, i use two usb sticks when i play gigs, one main and one as backup. When i insert a usb stick into my pc, after formatting, i go to the left hand side menu of RB, open the stick and i get these tabs with settings. (General, category etc etc).
When i change for instance stuff on the category tab on this stick, then put the stick into my XZ and load the settings, the config of the XZ changes. So far so good. Then lets say i change the settings on the XZ itself, mid show. Question one: how do the changed settings, that live on on my XZ (and are now different from what is in rekordbox on my pc) get transferred over to my pc? When i use the sync function it does not get imported.
When you open the cogwheel in export mode in RB on the pc, and go to DJ system and then GENERAL, i see different settings on that tab than the ones i see when opening the general tab of the usb stick on the pc, while the categories are the same. For instance, they both have the option to choose between classic and alphanumeric key display. Yet in the general tab behind the cogwheel one option is selected, on the general tab of the usb stick the other.
Question two: what does this mean? how can this be different?
My general question actually is: how do i make sure, when making multiple usb sticks, that the settings between RB on my pc, the individual USB sticks and the venue gear i use, all remain in sync? I have the fear now that when using a new USB sticks (i have a few laying around), and transferring my music onto them via export mode, but WITHOUT putting all the settings at the correct variables, that when i go play at a club, the standard settings get transferred over to the gear, instead of the ones i want. I had this happen already twice now and i must be doing something wrong. I hope.
