ddjsx channel 2 problem

Channel 2 on my Pionner DDJ-SX Dj controller is playing up. When you put the volume of the channel on full, The sound coming out of it will go loud and soft loud and soft repeatedly without anything or anyone touching it, when i view the onscreen activity in Traktor the fader is moving up & down, if i move the fader down very slightly it stops doing it, also the fx1 & fx2 buttons on the same channel are not selectable & not lighting up, really need to get this fixed quickly as i use this on a weekly basis, i am currently able to use other channels as a work around but would like to get this fixed sooner rather than later.
Thanks

I'm having the exact same issues on channel 2. I initially thought my channel was messed up but it went away for a few gigs and now its back. I noticed this started happening after an upgrade to Serato DJ firmware.

Have you guys verified that the firmware on the SX is up to date?

The other thing you can try is a different USB cable.

@Peter > The FX buttons not illuminating may simply be a case of Traktor not sending the correct MIDI output signal to light them properly. Check your mapping.

Yes my firmware is all upto to date, re installed mapping a few times makes no difference, dont think it could be a mapping issue as its the same mapping i was using prior to the problem arising. Thanks

@Peter > Have you considered using a MIDI monitor to see if there is signal activity being received even though no control change to the hardware occurs? This would narrow down the possible problem sites.

My main problem is the channel fader that needs addressing 1st as i can live without the fx for a while.

i can see that there is a midi signal being received by the fader on screen, i can also hear the difference in volume i.e. when i move the fader up it increases in volume as it should but when the fader is fully up the volume decrease slightly.

@Peter > I'm asking you to use a MIDI monitoring application to confirm that the signal is being received from the controller and not some erroneous signal in the system.

Due to not havin a few gigs ive finally got round to using a midi monitor programme on the ddjsx, the fader is permanently sending a midi signal even when not in use, spoke to a friend of mine who also is havin the same issue so it seems to me this is becoming a widespread problem with the ddjsx.

So where do i go with this now? Its out of warranty

thanks
