is the XDJ-RX USB2 or USB3 ?

In other words, if I will use USB3 stick will the browsing or scrolling through the track be faster ? The users manual says the amount of folders or subfolders may affect speed of browsing, also whether your files are CBR or VBR but it doesn't mention the read speeds. The time to copy the library to usb stick from RB doesn't bother me. But the scrolling through the track is a bit laggy (even on CBR) so if USB 3 would help here I would go for it :) Thanks.

The XDJ-RX is USB2, which at its maximum throughput has more than enough bandwidth to accommodate browsing on the RX. The scroll speeds are not restricted by virtue of the device speed, but rather the unit's processing capacity and the size of the database you have loaded.

I see. Thanks for the answer. Currently I have around 3000 tracks there but the entire collection will be close to 9000 tracks.

The player can handle 10,000 tracks in its memory / processing but shouldn't be too bad when using a USB device with decent access speeds. Keep in mind that not all USB drives are created equal and some USB2 drives can outperform USB3 drives because of the memory controller chipsets on them.

Even if it's USB 2 it would make sense to max out the systems speed capacity by using a USB 3 drive.

Why not use state of the art regarding the throughput electronics. That is beyond me. The cost of a USB 2 to USB 3 are manageable. Especially if it eliminates headaches both for the customer and helpdesk / support.

THe read speeds would be increased with USB 3.0 and should be noticeable on much bigger ssd drives like 500gb and more

The thought process behind the RX / RX2 are not 100%.

No SD card slots and upgraded usb ports with the right position, To small memory for 16 / 32 / 64 beatjump (which are the most useful) Upgraded emergency loop to include the whole track not just a couple of beats.

The same goes for the flagship CDJ 2000 NXS 2
