Pressing and holding down the rotary-selector (eg. for 1-2 seconds) is already implemented for jumping to the next page in the browser. You can use this function to accelerate scrolling.
Now in the library browse mode, tracks can be search for using the [SEARCH]-category.
Searching could easily be accelerated by pressing and holding down the rotary-selector e.g. for 1-2 seconds.
Right now I type in some letters, then I have to scroll to the right "search now" position and repress the rotary-selector to confirm it.
My idea for the shortcut: press and hold the rotary-selector.

Good idea, would be nice to have that
Man, this almost made me shit.... I saw the 1.7 Firmware and got all excited!!
+1 to this Great idea!
hi there,
Please implement something slightly different like pressing shift+ Rotary-selector, or use another combination, any shortcut would be welcome!
Alternatively, use the Holding down Rotary-selector to commit searching IN THIS MODE, rather than jumping to the next page in the browser.
@official answer: then please implement something like SHIFT + Pressing and holding down the rotary-selector, or implement my solution I've suggested above WHEN IN THIS SEARCH-MODE ONLY.
There are several possibilities thinkable for a clever shortcut, the current solution is very slow.
@Volker > I understand that you are looking for an alternative method, however this suggestion may not make it to the current hardware even with future updates. Sorry!
guys just a question - i have been trying to search for track on the usb but its not finding what im looking for. an example of this would be when getting a request. i start typin in artist and nothing is found. Help. i dont want to be carrying my laptop around.
@Richard > The search works just as it does on your laptop; are you certain the track you are searching for has the string you were entering in the artist field?
yeah 100%, the search facilty is broken on the device itself
to search for these tracks do they have to be run through rekordbox for it to work?
Yes, yes they do. Sounds to me like the search is working, the user is broken. ;)
fair enough, with that said how come the very same usb used on my cdj 2000s enables me to search and find tracks without issue?
@Richard > If you haven't analysed with rekordbox, you can not search. I'm not sure what you're doing to get any kind of search results on a CDJ-2000.
ok...ive insrted the usb and scroll to search and started typin in a track that i know is on the memory stick and it doesnt appear.
@I understand that you are looking for an alternative method...
This is because it is not possible or you don't want to improve it?
@Volker > Pioneer is always looking to improve their hardware and take these recommendations and comments into account when designing hardware. Unfortunately it's not always possible or practical to implement these kinds of changes to existing hardware.
