XDJ-XZ Hot Cue Triggering when the top of the deck is touched

I have had an intermittent problem with my XDJ-XZ. A hot cue kept randomly triggering on the left deck. I could not work out why. Thought it was software or something. Just by accident figured out it is when I touch the top of the deck surrounding the pads i.e not the pad itself. Does it on both sides of the pads. Very annoying and typically the unit is just out of warranty when I figured this out but it was happening within warranty period.  Have Pioneer seen this before? Is this fixable?
