Ordered Playlist in XDJ XZ via Taglist

I want to create an ordered playlist on my XDJ XZ. The taglist works well enough but when I save it as a playlist, the order I saved the tags in is lost in the newly created playlist.

Currently I have to go back into Rekordbox then manually reorder by dragging and dropping and then re-syncing the playlist to the USB.

This work flow works ok, but I would love to be able to be able to create the ordered playlist on the hardware. Anyone know a way how to achieve this without out going back into Rekordbox?

Unfortunately, Pioneer hasn’t added a native way to reorder and save tag lists directly. Like you, I’ve had to hop back into Rekordbox to tidy things up, which kind of kills the “standalone” vibe. Hopefully, a firmware update addresses it soon! I totally get the frustration; it reminds me of when I tried syncing apps on my vizio TV, great tech, but missing one key feature makes all the difference.

Unfortunately, on the XDJ-XZ, playlists created directly from the tag list don’t preserve the order you set, so the only reliable way to maintain a specific track sequence is still through Rekordbox by manually arranging the playlist and re-syncing it to your USB. While the hardware allows browsing, tagging, and creating playlists on the fly, it doesn’t yet support saving a custom order without using Rekordbox. As a workaround, some DJs keep a pre-arranged “ordered playlist” ready in Rekordbox, similar to how you might use a mittakaava laskuri to get precise measurements before starting a project, ensuring your set is perfectly sequenced when loaded on the XDJ-XZ.

I’ve run into the same limitation before. As far as I know, the XDJ-XZ can save a Tag List as a playlist, but it doesn’t preserve the custom track order, so I still end up reordering everything in Rekordbox afterward. It would be great if Pioneer added this feature in a future update.
