DJMS9 Routing / Crossfader / Channel Fader issue

I'm having an issue where after working fine for a little while, on my S9 the left deck channel volume becomes controlled by the crossfader rather than the channel fader (i've attached a video of this) the right deck works fine, i've just updated the latest drivers, firmware and updated to Serato DJ Pro which still hasn't fixed the issue.

I've logged a ticket with pioneer support on this one but just in case anyone has experienced this too i thought i'd post here

https://youtu.be/JOn1zbCpIGg - uploaded the video to youtube for visuals on this issue.

Honestly, any help or insight would be appreciated. Can't seem to find anyone with the same or similar issue to me

The volume of channel 1 isn't being controlled by the crossfader -- the crossfader is simply crossfading as it normally would, the problem is that the channel fader isn't doing what it's supposed to. Please try reversing the CH1 to see if it causes the audio to cut off unless the CH1 fader is at the top.

Thanks for the quick response, when channel 1 is reversed no sound comes out no matter where the channel fader is. Also sorry that was my bad terminology / wording I just meant to say the left channel stops working and only works from the crossfader

Okay, it seems like it could be a fault with the channel fader; please check out this old video I posted about replacing the S9 channel faders. What I'd suggest you do is take it out, give it a blow-out with some canned air, and re-seat it to see if maybe it was some debris or a loose connection causing the issue.

I've posted this elsewhere also just to see feedback on this, people are saying i could've mapped the MIDI to the crossfader and this is what's causing the issue? i've sent them pictures as i wasn't quite sure but don't think this is the cause.

I'll have a look at removing the faceplate and re seating the fader now.

I wonder why this works fine then suddenly happens halfway during a song or during use though

I've reseated the channel fader with your video and i'll see how this gets on it's working fine, for now....

I'll report back if this happens again, i appreciate your quick responses and help!

It could well be there is a MIDI issue as well, but given that re-seating the fader seems to have fixed it, let's go with it being a hardware problem and hope that was the resolution! Let us know how it fares with continued use.
