My recommendation...
Connect the DDJ-1000 output into the XDJ-RX2's AUX input, then the RX2 output to your PA. That way anyone who wants 4 decks on the DDJ can use that, anyone who wants to use just 2 decks on the RX2, or play directly on the RX2. Connect the USB cable from a controller to a computer as needed, pop a USB drive into the RX2 to play music between DJs.
You CAN connect two computers to the DDJ-1000 simultaneously, but obviously any deck whose channel selector is set to the other computer won't have access to it, but all 4 decks would be available to both computers, just not at the same time.
Mac uses CoreAudio, which is better than ASIO (which is only on PC), so it wasn't the right driver, probably just a simple mistake somewhere. If the jogs say "NO DRIVER" for the Mac, just launch the DDJ-1000 Driver Version Display utility and that will go away.
