Why does my XDJ-XZ sound so bad on my EVs when my DDJ-SX2 was amazing

I have played around with the preferences in rekordbox but i cant manage to make the sound not distortioned or so gross. it just sounds absolutely horrible. Any suggestions? Thanks so much

Can you open rekordbox > Preferences > Controller > Mixer, and check the Output Level setting? 

Can you please also check what you have set on the hardware in the utility menu for the MASTER ATTENUATOR and PEAK LIMITER options? Info in the manual here.
