S11-SE - build quality issues

I after recently receiving the S 11 SE I seem to have a springy plate on the bottom section of the mixer, i’m not sure if this is a build quality issue. Unit just been opened.. The left hand side on the second half of the mixer next to the hot cues is absolutely fine but the right side seems to be “bouncy” I’m just wondering if this could be a defect or if anyone else has had a problem with Build quality As the SE Is a limited edition, is it okay to ask how many of these have been put into production as I’m just thinking it might be difficult to exchange been limited etc

Thanks

Hello all,

DJM-S11 engineers explained about the bulge of the faceplate.
Beneath the center part of the DJM-S11 faceplate, many parts are complexly assembled.
Each part cannot be made completely flat because of limitations of the manufacturing processes.
When assembling all these parts, empty areas between each part may become larger than initially assumed.
Especially, the plastic parts can be easily bent, which may push up the aluminum faceplate.

We made a rule of allowing a gap of 1.2 mm at maximum because such a bulge may not affect the performance of the mixer.
We usually ask all the customers who find any larger gap than 1.2mm in between the faceplate and the chassis to have the unit inspected at a service center.

Please check the gap and if it is larger than 1.2mm, please have the unit inspected at a service center.

Sorry for all the uneasiness you experienced and thank you for your kind understanding.

Hey many-Cs,

Sorry to hear that -- could you please post a video showing the issue so I can pass it to our QC team?

Thanks!

Hi Pulse, thanks for your reply.

Can you drop me an email and ill send you a copy of a video I have done, my email should be attached to my account etc

Im concerned as these units are meant to be limited or special edition so would like to exchange but concerned due to the limited nature of the amount of units out there.

I noticed that on my unit as well.

I've uploaded the picture in a message below.

In addition to that, my channel faders have a different resistance. Is there a way to fix that? All the online information seems to be based around the crossfader.

Thank you

Theodor,

Have you taken the faceplate off your S11?

The Retailer told me it's not possible because I bought a discounted Unit.

This is kind of strange. Any other suggestions?

@Pulse someone sent it back, so it had no rekordbox lisence anymore. Therefore I got a discount. But that dosen't change the fact of the faceplate.

I'll send it back after Christmas and buy another one at a different retailer hopefully with problems.

@Grzly > Ah, that I would understand - not sure why they wouldn't have RA'd it for a repair tho. In that case, the only option would be a warranty - but I expect they'd do the same thing you could do at home; bend the faceplate. Sorry about that!
