Burn as CD-Audio (CD-A) in your settings. This will burn all filetypes as uncompressed audio formats - therefore making it easier for the players to load and decode the information (waveforms etc). You'll only get about max 15 tracks with this method.

So is it a bad idea to burn both mp3 and wav files to the same CD? Also, someone told me the less files or Audio tracks on a CD, the faster it loads. True statement?

one more thing gavin, is there any point in using Nero vs using the stock CD burner in a macbook pro?

Yeah, I'd go with Nero. I always used it in the past and found it a great piece of software. Burn at a slow and steady speed - slower = more stable (but there's no need to burn at, like, 1x).
