Using windows 10, I've tried this with multiple computers. The firmware will not update, it is stuck on 0% with the "updating firmware" Window.

You need to hold down SHIFT and SYNC on deck one when powering on the unit with USB cable in the A socket then run the updater. I had to get this from tech support as the updater doesnt tell you neither does RekordBox
Do you happen to know the trick for MACs ?
Shift + Sync worked! Amazing this isn't included in the startup guide in the box

It's ridiculous that 1) Rekordbox TELLS you to update the firmware and doesnt mention this and 2) The updating software happily TELLS you what version you currently have and DOESNT tell you to put the controller in updating mode before continuing!
Has anyone figured out how to solve this problem on OSX 10.11
