Have you attempted updating the firmware? This would put the unit into a sort of recovery mode when it is switched on... Instructions can be found on pioneer website...

xdj-rx froze up and screen is now black, nothing works
So I was showing a friend the in's and out's of the controller the other night and it just froze up and now nothing works and the screen is just black. I cant get it to work. Help? I don't want to pay to mail this to California for repairs when its less than 5 months old. I'm starting to think I wasted $1500
