Pioneer DDJ RR Phono Preamp question

I would like to know about the quality of the phono preamps of the DDJ RR.. Is it combinable to the DJM mixers? Are they any good to listen to traditional vinyl?

Thanks

No, the phono pre-amps aren't comparable to the DJM mixers as those use much higher quality pre-amps and A/D converters, but that's not to say the quality of the phono inputs of the DDJs are bad - just not as good.

The line input is fine for line devices, but can't be used for a turntable as it doesn't feature the phono pre-amp.

I've found the Line input is really quiet, either run through the software or directly through the controller. I've not tried it on Phono though.

I was just about to post my own thread on this subject...
the phono pre amps are no where near the quality of a DJM. This is disappointing for any traditional vinyl enthusiast. For crossover equipment it does not hit the mark well.

No they're not as good as those in the DJMs, but that's within reason -- the expected use of a DDJ is the DDJ itself as a controller, it simply offers the added functionality of a phono input. If that's a feature you consider high on your priority list, then you should consider one of the higher end DDJs (eg. RZ, SZ), or a DJM.
