ProDJ Link

Hi.

I realised that there is an issue using ProDJ Link and the Network Interface Card (NIC) in the PC is configured to allow Jumbo Frames / Jumbo Packets.

As I am having Jumbo Frames activated in my entire Network to speed up large file data Transfer I am working around the issue with a second NIC - which doesn't have Jumbo Frames activated and a second router providing DHCP in a separate IP range to serve XDJ's and DJM.

However I am wondering if the NIC built in the XDJ's / DJM would Support Jumbo Frames and it could be maybe configured via the menu in the future - maybe via Firmware update.

@Frank > Unfortunately technical data like that is not generally made available for the public - if you happen to find the answer yourself, that's fine, but we can't provide it for you. Either way, it's my understanding that the network protocols have been configured in their current iteration because there is no need for jumbo frames given that the data stream required for four simultaneous 24bit / 96kHz audio streams is far less than the data rate of the 100mBit network being used.

There's actually a group dedicated to researching the ability to "intercept" the packets sent across the ProDJ Network in order to use it to sync with other apps/devices, Ableton for example. Do a search in this forum for Ableton. There's a thread I created discussing this topic and the moderator @Pulse included some helpful links that I think may assist you.

Cheers.
