Format issue - question marks

I saw someone on here had this problem - every character is a question mark on my rekordbox. It wasn't like this before. 

The resolution for the other person was to go to the font book app and click file > restore standard fonts (which deletes all personally imported fonts) this is an issue as i need my font book library. 

Is there a way to fix this software issue? i haven't touched my fontbook or fiddled with any settings, so dont know why this is happening

It's certainly a font issue - did you try restoring your Fontbook?

ive restored the fontbook multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled rekordbox 3x and still have the issue. my mac is up to date (high sierra 10.13.6)  so dont know what to do :(

Wait, rekordbox 3? We're now up to rekordbox 6! No wonder that's happening! Please try updating to version 5 or 6 from the rekordbox website.
